In particular, they tolerate everything except what they consider intolerable. It's hypocrisy at its worst.

Also, they love to call names in response to satire when, if they were following "in the way of Jesus," they wouldn't return insult in exchange for what they perceived to be a slight at them. It is even more a practice of hypocrisy which they claim to hate about the church.

I just don't understand why Jonny and Randy have made you their special project. It's not as if you have a big time "Christian" (read "apostate") publisher, who only cares about making money for its mother corporation, out there about to publish your blog musings. But if you can find one, more power to you. Apparently YOU have much more "seekers" to your blog than you imagine, Ron. You are definitely a threat.

And to my neighbor, Randy, please excrete or get off the pot. If you're going to leave permanently, leave. This bomb-throwing of yours is tiring and worthy of my pity.

Why is it that with the "progressive evangelicals" (an oxymoron in many cases) that their bellweather issue is acceptance of homosexual practice? I honestly don't get it. Why do they care so much about this one issue? Oops! I'm sorry, their so angry about our supposed one issue of homosexual practice they can't get over their one issue. (And it's interesting that now pre-marital sex is becoming acceptable too, because that and homosexuality are the two things that we traditional preachers always rail against!)

As a missional-oriented (non-Emergent) pastor, who is a fan the Acts 29 Network and the like, it's frustrating to hear people (notice I didn't say "leaders of the Church" because it assumes that you will be orthodox to be a leader in the Church) of my own generation abusing Scripture in the name of being relevant. It's so sad to be in the middle of a generational shift. And it's time for the Emergents to take their place in a the mainline churches (ELCA, UMC, PCUSA, ECUSA, UCC, etc.) and prop those dying denominations up. Unless they're afraid of mutual accountability from liberals (again, does that even exist?).Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05187072283344015547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-44351598929622142532008-01-11T07:13:00.001-08:002008-01-11T07:13:00.001-08:00Once again jonnie, you demonstrate how pitiable yo...Once again jonnie, you demonstrate how pitiable you really are. What is a "drama quen"? I can make several guesses, but I don't have all the insider lingo down pat, so perhaps you'd enlighten me?
But perhaps you'd also enlighten me as to how exactly anything I said is deserving of your scorn? (I am assuming that drama quen is a bad thing). Perhaps you realized that you really don't mean what you say ie "God bless, Peace", etc. Could you, in reality, be one of those dreaded hypocrites? Yes, I think you are.Jim Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11484659878656268629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-44572805779686449882008-01-11T07:13:00.000-08:002008-01-11T07:13:00.000-08:00Randy,There is nothing or no one linked to my site...Randy,
There is nothing or no one linked to my site. I hate to burst your bubble, but all my Elders actually like me and what I write, preach, and teach. That would go for the entire congregation, which is comprised of members of all ages, with lots of young people and young families. Nice try though. You see, if my Elders warned me that my writing were not of their liking I would listen to them, knowing that God has sent me a very fine group of godly men.
You will not call me. I don't have the time or the inclination to listen to you prattle on. I am, however, surprised that you actually believe that I am the unteachable one. That's funny.

Jonny,
You are precisely why the word "arrogant" is applied to emergents. Either clean up your act or you're gone. Your type of nonsense might impress a bunch of pimple-faced young kids, but it doesn't wash here, son. Your attitude is disgusting. It is a shame that you are abusing your teaching position as you are.
Here's what I want you to do: Get a congregation, serve it selflessly for at least ten years, and then come back and tell us all how to do it.Rattlesnake6http://www.blogger.com/profile/17862285943082983061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-46436077159266073232008-01-11T04:18:00.000-08:002008-01-11T04:18:00.000-08:00Jim W: The Women's Institute called, said they we...Jim W: The Women's Institute called, said they were missing a drama quen...i assumed it was you and thought I should let you know they want you back...

Ronnie: I was actually making my misinformed comment more to the former part of your blog. About Rob Bell and such.

I have never argued the "you don't understand me card," because I quite frankly couldn't care less if you do or not.

I actually don't have full internet access at the minute, and am connecting periodically through my blackberry, ( hence no posts on my site) but when i have full internet access again (ie through my laptop) you can fully expect your cumbersome arguement to be challenged. I expect to be back online through my laptopin about 2/3 weeks when I return from my travels. I assume by then anyway you will have another mundane "arguement" for me to counter.

Dr Fin: Thanks for stopping by and giving your opinion. I checked out your blogger profile and notice you don't blog...aren't you interesting or intelligent enough?

I assume there are just handing out doctorate degrees these days considering you and Ronnie have one...certificates on the back of toilet paper by any chance? Because "Doctor" Fin had you checked thoroughly the comment section on any other of "Dr" Gleasons posts you would notice that I was actually ignoring other people because they were being so ridiculous...of course they will say I was ignoring them because they were right and I was wrong...but that arguement is becoming as mundane as the "You don't understand me" one.

So...seems this young collapsed narcissist has deflated your puffed up ego? Feel free to ignore me....after all it would put what I assume is your degree in psychology to good use ehh?

Peace Out.Jonny McCormickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13178765749416056659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-20107284603519432062008-01-10T22:50:00.000-08:002008-01-10T22:50:00.000-08:00RonOne final question for you before i leave entir...Ron

One final question for you before i leave entirely since you are beyond being corrected...

the question: Why isn't your church's website linked to your blog? Perhaps the leadership of your own church has had issues with your opinions and connnecting those opinions with their faith community.

I simply want this to be clear for those who read you and believe you to be without error.

Yes. i won't be back. For the future - if so enticed - I'll appeal to your e-mail address as well as your phone and the elders of your church.

For the sake of the gospel.
randyRandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01663135907402873552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-14710239923286944302008-01-10T21:24:00.000-08:002008-01-10T21:24:00.000-08:00Jonny is a self-disordered troll, trying to puff u...Jonny is a self-disordered troll, trying to puff up his hollow self-esteem by adolescent baiting. Why do you feed him?

There is one thing that collapsed narcissists can't stand: being ignored. He needs to be ignored. It...No, jonny, you shouldn't have said "God bless". It's far too obvious that you don't mean it as a blessing, so by being sarcastic you are actually cursing. You are using God's name in vain. Remember those pesky commandments? One of those speaks to that issue. Like Joel said, if you can find any actual errors, point them out. We'd all like to learn something.Jim Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11484659878656268629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-13197796741666906962008-01-10T17:31:00.000-08:002008-01-10T17:31:00.000-08:00Jonny,Read between the satire and try to see the p...Jonny,

Read between the satire and try to see the points Dr. Gleason is making. His views on this subject are actually quite biblical.

Just how is he "misinformed?" If he truly is misinformed, I am sure he'd be thankful for the correction.SolaMeaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09869424956571944997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20011186.post-882079120854772332008-01-10T17:09:00.000-08:002008-01-10T17:09:00.000-08:00hmmm I see you have changed you approach Ronnie......hmmm I see you have changed you approach Ronnie....Ohh wit you haven't...

Again words taken out of context.
