I am continually amazed at the absolute intolerance espoused by those who claim tolerance. In particular, they tolerate everything except what they consider intolerable. It's hypocrisy at its worst.

Also, they love to call names in response to satire when, if they were following "in the way of Jesus," they wouldn't return insult in exchange for what they perceived to be a slight at them. It is even more a practice of hypocrisy which they claim to hate about the church.

I just don't understand why Jonny and Randy have made you their special project. It's not as if you have a big time "Christian" (read "apostate") publisher, who only cares about making money for its mother corporation, out there about to publish your blog musings. But if you can find one, more power to you. Apparently YOU have much more "seekers" to your blog than you imagine, Ron. You are definitely a threat.

And to my neighbor, Randy, please excrete or get off the pot. If you're going to leave permanently, leave. This bomb-throwing of yours is tiring and worthy of my pity.

Why is it that with the "progressive evangelicals" (an oxymoron in many cases) that their bellweather issue is acceptance of homosexual practice? I honestly don't get it. Why do they care so much about this one issue? Oops! I'm sorry, their so angry about our supposed one issue of homosexual practice they can't get over their one issue. (And it's interesting that now pre-marital sex is becoming acceptable too, because that and homosexuality are the two things that we traditional preachers always rail against!)

As a missional-oriented (non-Emergent) pastor, who is a fan the Acts 29 Network and the like, it's frustrating to hear people (notice I didn't say "leaders of the Church" because it assumes that you will be orthodox to be a leader in the Church) of my own generation abusing Scripture in the name of being relevant. It's so sad to be in the middle of a generational shift. And it's time for the Emergents to take their place in a the mainline churches (ELCA, UMC, PCUSA, ECUSA, UCC, etc.) and prop those dying denominations up. Unless they're afraid of mutual accountability from liberals (again, does that even exist?).

Once again jonnie, you demonstrate how pitiable you really are. What is a "drama quen"? I can make several guesses, but I don't have all the insider lingo down pat, so perhaps you'd enlighten me?
But perhaps you'd also enlighten me as to how exactly anything I said is deserving of your scorn? (I am assuming that drama quen is a bad thing). Perhaps you realized that you really don't mean what you say ie "God bless, Peace", etc. Could you, in reality, be one of those dreaded hypocrites? Yes, I think you are.

There is nothing or no one linked to my site. I hate to burst your bubble, but all my Elders actually like me and what I write, preach, and teach. That would go for the entire congregation, which is comprised of members of all ages, with lots of young people and young families. Nice try though. You see, if my Elders warned me that my writing were not of their liking I would listen to them, knowing that God has sent me a very fine group of godly men.

I have never argued the "you don't understand me card," because I quite frankly couldn't care less if you do or not.

I actually don't have full internet access at the minute, and am connecting periodically through my blackberry, ( hence no posts on my site) but when i have full internet access again (ie through my laptop) you can fully expect your cumbersome arguement to be challenged.
